Beauty of the Small Congregation
As each particular congregation in every part of the world fulfills a particular need in that community, we at Heimtal Moravian Church do not judge our success by the overall number of people who worship together, but by the strength of our relationships within the community.
The truth of the matter is that we are an aging congregation. Founded in 1896, we have been serving the needs of the local farming population for over 100 years. But anyone who has taken a drive on the west side of Ellerslie road knows that this area is changing fast! This particular part of South Edmonton is expected to grow to a population of nearly 100,000 residents. It is difficult to imagine what was once fertile farm land to become a suburban centre with an LRT hub. South Edmonton is undergoing a major change, and we hope to change as well, all while maintaining a community of faith where the strength of our relationships is the core of our community.
